SWIMMING COACH SWAPS STOP WATCH FOR CYCLE HELMET -
A TOUGH TASK TO HELP BUILD A NEW SWIMMING POOL
As many of you will know from my numerous anecdotes and stories, I have been connected with Fareham Nomads Swimming club since the early 80’s when my daughters Jannette and Kathlene joined the club. During this time, I have fulfilled many roles from being ‘just a parent’ to helper, lane coach, committee member, press secretary, team manager, official, chairman, head coach, assistant coach and now as I near retirement the master’s coach.
The club are now embarking on their most ambitious project this club has ever undertaken and not many others have endeavoured to do and that is – to build its own swimming pool.
As I come to the end of my coaching career with the club, I am embarking upon one of my most ambitious challenges – to complete the 2019 London to Brighton Bike Ride! The last time I did any serious cycling was when I was a teenager – so not an easy challenge now that I am the wrong side of 70!
I am seeking the help of the members of the club, past members of the club their friends and family and my other swimming contacts to support me in this venture by way sponsoring my ride.
